Old enough if good enough?

There are only a pocketful of hours since Juventus lost 1-0 at San Siro for Milan after a Robinho penalty kick after 30 minutes played. The Old Lady had more possession than the home side, and pushed on in the entire second half for an equaliser, but failed to find the way to the back of the net. However, still when 1-0 down in a difficult game on the road, Antonio Conte subbed on a familiar bloke, Paul Pogba, in an attempt to turn the game around.

On Fergie's mind

Sir Alex has done an incredible lot for Manchester United, but right now there are some issues and Fergie doesn't seem to have a plan - or does he? No matter what, I'd be beyond grateful if he can sort out the following challenges, which are essential to remain one of the top sides in the English top-flight and maybe even conquer Europe again.

Guardiola not the successor

 

 

One day Sir Alex Ferguson will no longer be the manager of Manchester United, and from time to time I'm wondering and considering who I think should become his successor. Josep "Pep" Guardiola has achieved the extraordinary with Barcelona, and is mentioned every once in a while when the issue is brought up among fans and/or in the media. An explanation of why I doubt him is to follow.

The Post-Fergie Future

At the sixth of November 1986, Manchester United hired the club's sixth manager after the great Sir Matt Busby's retirement in 1969, and every single one of them (including Busby himself in 1970-71) had failed to win the league, despite some FA Cup glory. The new gaffer was Scottish as well, and with his achievements of bringing league and Cupwinners' Cup silverware to Aberdeen in mind, the United board decided to hope he could do something similiar at Old Trafford. He did, and way beyond, but now his retirement is getting closer day by day. Here's a look at some of the possible men to replace the knighted Scot.

Throughout history Manchester United have enjoyed the presence of a lot of great personalities, delivering performances enough to secure goals, points, trophies, memories and history to the club. Several players have given their all simply to see United succeed, The Munich survivors and victims in particular. They have lived by the slogan 'United über alles' (United above everything) and given millions and millions of reds reasons to be proud of our club and wear the red shirt with passionate pride.
