The former Everton gaffer has a huge challenge ahead of him, and the support of the fans will be significant. And as many fans are fed up by Wayne Rooney's transfer requests, the one part of the former blue key co-operation makes a huge opportunity for the other one. By booting United's number ten out of Old Trafford, David Moyes could prove that he's not afraid of making a hard decision when it's needed, and that ability could turn out key, as it has been for Ferguson.
Offloading Rooney will state that name and former honours is insignificant as there's a new lad in town, and leave out any eventual doubt of whether Fergie's successor is just as straight-to-the-point if he doesn't feel the actual player is motivated to keep carrying on and pulling in the same direction as the rest of the club.
Hopefully Moyes has had a slight look at some significant departures of the Ferguson era, which has seen players like Robson, Ince, Cantona, Schmeichel, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy and Ronaldo leave, and United have always carried on to win the title. If Moyes boots Rooney, I think it would be a great way to stat United still are greater than any individual character.
